Our after school care programme sees up to 600 children per week from the local and surrounding Primary Schools. These children come rushing in for most often their only meal of the day along with many other needs besides only the need to eat. Our children do not have the means to buy a pair of school shoes or a fresh new school shirt, they solely rely on us to provide for their needs. A big issue we face is that of a need for school shoes, we even see children coming into the centre after school with no shoes on at all! It is a sad reality that these little ones do not have a choice in the matter, so we do our very best to give them hope and some comfort.
When people ask us the question "What do you need the most? " Although we rely totally on sponsorships, a HUGE need is for school shoes, socks and uniforms for our community children.
So does your child have a pair of school shoes they have outgrown? Do you work for a school or know someone who does? It all starts with you and one random act of kindness.
